Epson introduces digital M

Heelo,
it's right that on internet we can find some info, some links at the botom message are to compolete some info.
What I don't know very good, is the compatibility of the old design of lenses, with the sensor. Like all other have re-designed the lenses for digital, like Nikon, or if you prefer, like Schneider. My question is one, what is the problem that we can have with our M-lenses in use with digital camera.?
Thanks
Laurent

>Hi Vishal: Thanks for posting your photographs. You have a lovely family. >I am curious about the focus on many of the photos. Hello,

I should have said to look at the India 2005 collection, the collection you mentioned were taken with an IxusDigi by Canon.

Some of my photos are a little soft, I was shooting wide open at 1/15th, hence a little camera shake.

I still love film but for the moment, digital seems to pay the bills and works well. I admit that for personal work I still use film - its something that for me will never change but we live in a society were people want to see the results immediately. I shot a few rolls of TMAX400 thro my 1960's Olympus 35SP and had more fun with it but I guess I am just old fashioned.

I think the Epson has filled a gap, it was the ONLY reason I went digital, it feels like a proper film camera and results allow for 20x16 prints. Some sharpening is required with most digital images, esp. if shot in RAW.

Also take a look at the following link:

All my Epson photos were uploaded with no post-production, I simply used the 'save for web' function on PhotoShop CS.

Best,

Vishal.

Vishal -- Great stuff. I have a couple of questions. Did you shoot these for professional or personal reasons? Will the camera stand up to abuse? Again, great stuff.

Bill.

Bill,

These were shot for personal use - however before I left I shot a wedding for pro use - to sell and the prints are great. It is a sturdy camera and will stand up to abuse - I certainly have abused it! The only protection I have for it is a Billingham bag for when I moving around, otherwise its general around my neck!

I love it but for personal work still use the MP - I save that purely for myself!

Vishal, when you shot wedding with the RD-1, did you use flash or all with available light? I would love to see s&les of your wedding. I am also considering to get a RD-1 to add to my dSLRs for weddings.

Albert

Hey Albert,

I shot it with a Sunpak 70 flash, I guessed the exposure by taking test shots and then seeing what worked best. I found setting the flash at 1/16 power, 1/15th exposure and f4 worked the best.

I'm yet to show my client the results but here is a sneak preview of the wedding - http://vphotographic.fotopic.net/c465464.html

PS. Who is Hans? He doesn't realise that one much reduce the quality of photographs for web use, I say this in regard to his comment of,

"Epson R-D1... Poor Sharpness, missing details in dark parts. I'm happy to not have this camera. Hans"

Vishal.

Albert,

I am thinking of getting a DSLR for my wedding work, what do you use? I am thinking of getting a Nikon D2X or the Olympus E1.

Any thoughts?
