From the Heronry

Just a couple of ho-hum images from a local heronry today. As much as I pleaded with them they just wouldn't pose as I wanted them to. Still, it's nice to be here in the springtime with all the herons and egrets either with chicks or on their eggs. This bird is a Great Egret in its breeding plumage.

Nothing wrong with the composition or the 'posing' of the preening models :)
Those images tell me more about what is going on than well 'posed' images do.

Gorgeous shots and certainly no complaints from here. Beautiful shots.

Danny.

Some time ago I had to drive past a small wetlands that was an egret rookery. It was odd to see all of these big birds in trees when I'm used to seeing them stalking through the water looking for fish.
