AI lenses vs AF lenses

Why the AI lenses (without autofocus) are more expensive than AF lenses of the same type? (in Italy the AI 50/1,4 is sold at 700 Euro and the AF 50/1.4 at 400 Euro)

AIS contains more metal. Production of AIS lens is much more difficult than AF and turnout is less than AF. Thus AIS is expensive. But you can get second hand at low price with good condition.

Yes quality should be same for 50/1.4. But for zooms I believe newly designed AF should be with higher quality than old manuals becanse of the advanced technology.
