Why can't Nikon bring back more cameras like this? Manual rules! Love this camera except for the plastic (seems to be everyone's complaint. nonetheless, I have taken this across the world and back, and not a problem with durability.) Not the FM-3, I just want to see a simple, metal body, manual camera.

I believe it is because the FM-10 is manufactured by Cosina and marketed under the name of Nikon. That is, the FM-10 is not an original Nikon camera

Cosina is the same manufacturer of the Bessa R and Bessa R2 rangefinder cameras that have become popular recently because of quality and economy and that are still printed with the name Voigtlander. Some information here:

nonetheless, i'd like to see more manual cameras on the market. they aren't dead yet!

I believe that the link that I posted above, a well known dealer of Bessa cameras in the US (and I believe the mayor one)also mention some of this in his webpage. If not he can give you information if you email him.Don't take me wrong, I'm not saying that those are not good cameras, the FM-10 might be a good starter camera, but is not up to the standards of an FM3A for ex&le .
And the Bessa R and Bessa R2 viewfinders are well damn good cameras with a good line of superb lenses at an attractive price, but well that is O/T.
