It is the real sky, the conditions must be just right for this: a rather dilute layer of clouds, preferably with holes in it, so you can take a shot of the moon through one of those holes.
I don't know why exactly there is a ring of reddish color around the moon. Seems like red light passes through the cloud layer more easily, but then why is the region directly around the moon blue? It can also be observed with the sun in similar circumstances:
