Hi

I just bought a Flextight Precision II. I didn't get any cables or filmholders with it.

I you want to sell anything like this, or know where I can get it, please let me know.

Thank you!

It seems you got yourself into serious trouble buying an incomplete precision scanner.
How about scanner software?

I will try to find some links to scanner specialists that may be able to help you.
You could end up buying another complete but defective scanner to get yours going.

Hi Paul

I've got all the software and drivers. I'm missing the power cable, and I need a 6X6 film holder. I've heard that you can communicate with scanner through a Ratoc SCSI firewire adapter. Further more I've got a H3D, so I have access to Hasselblad.com to download an older version of Flexcolor.

Do you think I'll be able to find what I need to get it going?

I'd really appreciate if you have any contacts that would sell some of it to me.

Thank you for your help!

Sincerely
Christian

The plug you need is a standard DIN one often used in home audio systems.
You also need a power supply giving + and - 15 volts and + 5,2 volt.

The SCSI connector is computer hardware.

Is there any website (etc) that specialises on such products? It's not very likely that I will find the right power adapter.

Thank you for the input!

Hm, you need more that just a power cable, you need the complete AC-DC power supply. This is not something I have sitting on my shelf. The power requirements listed are nothing out of the ordinary so if push comes to shove a competent electronics guy/gal can construct something for you.

As for the Firewire<->SCSI converter.. that is rare stuff. Can't you use a PCI-SCSI or PCIe-SCSI host bus adapter in your system? These are much easier to find.

I'm afraid you will have a bit of searching in front of you.

I've solved the SCSI-firewire adapter issue. There's a brand called Ratoc who has a product that will word with the scanner (several other presicion users has it).

As for the power cable I don't know.

If you have any idea , let me know!

Thanks!

Christian,

I would go to my local army dump shop to find suitable power supply units.
Keep in mind the scanner needs three different kinds of power:

+ 15 volt
- 15 volt
+ 5.2 volt

The 5.2 is a standard requirement for computer hardware.

Like Wilko said this needs the help from somebody who knows about these units.
They can be fitted in one box with a multi cable and the 5 pole DIN plug leading to your scanner.
Could be these kind of power requirements can be found in one unit.

An ad with the local supermarket for someone with these skills may be a solution.

It's not very likely that I'll find a place like that here in Oslo, or even around.

But I'd be just as interested in getting a new, or used, and off course pay a bit more.

Try to find a store in Oslo that sells components for electronics.
The shop will probably offer a service to make a suitable power supply or help you find somebody who can do that for you.
It must be possible to find this kind of service in Oslo.

The other chance is to ask Hasselblad if they have the power supply unit in stock.
