Nick,
Given that Dirk has expressed sensitivity of people advocating dealers etc in other threads do you want to drop me a mail privately:-

I had some friends who worked for different camera dealers here in the US. They stopped carrying Contax some time ago when Contax changed their dealer policies and required them to keep larger quantities of stock than they could comfortably afford to have in inventory. I think if you ask the dealers outright what their dealer's policy is for Contax in the UK, they will probably tell you - then it might be an indicator of why you can't find more Contax equipment at more dealers around the UK. That is my hunch. -Lynn

When I was last in the UK , and going by the magazines , they seem to have a policy of having "specialist Contax Centres" which stock a decent range with a certain amount of staff knowhow , rather than flogging bits of stock to anyone who'll take it..... I suspect this might make more sense for the older MF line , but perhaps not so much for growing market share with the 645 and N's etc - but then I live in a country that doesnt even have a Contax agency , so what the hell do I know!! Are the p-7 battery holders still available anywhere and will they make different in the handling of the Camera? Thanks

I have a trouble with my two ST bodies.
Both have a problem with the aperture simulator ring. Using the wide angle lenses the ST show a worong stop with an error of 1/2 stop.
2.4 instead of 2.8 and so on for all stops.
I repaired two times the bodies and the laboratories said me that is a ST problem due to the plastic manufactoring ring and they fixed the problem touching the lenses 21 and 28.I did not have the same problem with my Aria body and neither using 167 body.
Anyone can give me any suggest ? I'm thinking to chnage both ST to RTS III or change all to Leica.
