Orthodox Christian monastery (V-VI century) located in the Mangup-Kale. It is built on the slopes of the mountain plateau, rising 500 meters above sea level. Google maps.

Looking at these photos is almost a religious experience. The hand of God has guided the faithful. Thank you for sharing them!

In this small monastery a monk lives permanently (sometimes two) and several workers come there every day from the village at the foot... It is an hour's walk upwards. They bring food, building materials, everything needed...
Straight in the vertical wall are the windows of the cell (like a glazed balcony) where this monk lives. Usually a lot of people gather there when there are Holy Day masses - a few days a year.
