Contax RTS I focusing screens

I've been looking for a split image focusing screen for my RTS I for a while. Does anyone have one for sale or any ideas. The literature only lists the different types that were available, but no product/model code is assigned to them. Its very frustrating. Everytime I locate one is for the II or III models. Help!

I have the original accessory p&hlet and there are indeed 5 screens shown, including the split image screen. There are no part numbers, just descriptions:

Microprism Split-image Matte Sectioned Matte Cross-scaled

Mine came with the Microprism and I never saw any reason to change it because it seems to work well with any focal length lens. I've had other cameras with split image screens and had problems seeing the image with some focal length lenses.

In any case, one place to check is the MIR camera site, and maybe the RolleiClub, which I think is actually a commercial venture.

Good luck.

Hi Don and Manual,

I think I have some RTSI screens at home. I'll look for them tonight, to see if there is one providing split image.

I have the opposite experience than Manuel: I have by mistake bought some RTSI screens, believing they were for my RTSII or III.

I know a cheap and good local shop here in Helsinki to buy this kind of stuff, so if you crosses Finland on your way...

One thing I didn't add in my note was that I didn't even think about checking Kyocera USA. Sometimes they turn up some NOS for the RTS 1. Generally they say they don't have any parts for the older cameras but not long ago I bought a new diopter and eyecup (as a spare) because the rubber on my existing eyecup was getting a little stiff.

I would be interesting in getting some more viewscreens for my RTS, depending on the cost. I guess I would need at least one of those special tweezers to make changes safe and simple.

(By the way, in my posting, I listed the five screen types in a list, but the email system returned them all in one line, sort of hard to read)
