Doesnbt turn on

I had my Canon SI IS in for a replacement CCD a few months ago.
Shortly after it came back it started intermittently not turning on. I left it on my desk for a few weeks and then tried it and all of a sudden it started. It worked for a few days and now it won't turn on again. The batteries are fully charged, the contacts are all clean. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
Canon wants $89 to look at it. I am overseas now anyway and would appreciate any help.
