DX selection automatic vs manual

I recently purchased a used C645 and have noticed a difference in exposure settings when the DX selector is on automatic vs. manual. I was using Portra 400NC. Has anyone seen this problem before?

As far as I know, only the Fuji roll films has DX code and easy load (EL) features.
