Hi all!

Had a break in the studio and used the time to take a look at this orchid.

Sincere regards, Jim Roelofs

This magnolia blossom I shot this year in April with my 14. The late afternoon sun provided this warm and smooth light that only lasts for a few minutes. Nice to have a SIGMA at hand. :)

See you with nice pictures

Yes, Klaus, the light's the thing. Words from a master so many years ago...

Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.

Hi Jim,

you are a 100,000% right!!

LIGHT is the thing that makes photography that fascinating.

Watching the daily photo-press ... I do not quite understand the ongoing HIGH ISO camera race!

Some chaps think, it was nicer to take pictures without light .... I think differently .... maybe old-fashinoed.

As far as AL-photography is concerned ... I can assure everybody ... :)

A sunset is nice ... but really nothing compared to a sunrise.

Early in the morning you have two things ... wonderful light and peace!!!

Dresden: The "Zwinger". A place where thousands of people make any nice picture impossible.

This picture can only be taken before breakfast! Then, you have wonderful light ... and peace ... i.e. no people around you! :)

Yes, away from the maddening crowds.

That's why the bush / mountains / outback draws me like a mighty magnet.

Oh, and did I tell you about our famous aussie early morning light?

Sincere regards, JR

Jim,

I would need a rocket .... to visit you in Australia ..

Well, .... our photos can rush around the world at the speed of light ... really fascinating .. is it not?!;)

A few years ago, I would not have believed it!

See you with nice pictures

Klaus

Jim,

Forget the rocket idea. Go Lufthansa, I've been told it's cheaper. You also get the chance to read up on this huge country for a while. And before you know it, presto!, look out the window, and there before your very eyes, there's Sydney. Too easy!

Sincere regards, JR
