Filter and lens hood for 28 f28 Distagon

Contax does not advise using both a filter and a G-12 lens hood with this lens. However, is it possible to use the hood with one of the newer ultra thin filters now available? Is the front thread on such filters deep enough to accept the lens hood? Any experience with this problem?

I am inclined to protect the lens with a filter but it does seem cumbersome to take the filter off in order to install the lens hood.

Thanks for any ideas on this.

Denis, the ultra thin filters I have have no thread in front. If you don't mind the costs, use the adapter 55/86 with metal hoode 2 and 86mm Filters. Or - forget the filter and handle you precious lens with care.
