Possible to use IR film

S

Siimt

Hei,

Have been through user manual twice now but didn't find any reference to it so...

Can I use Kodak HIE film with my Maxxum 7 or does the camera use IR-sensors to count frames or something so it'll probably fog this film?

Thanks,

You got it - The Minolta 7 uses an Infrared sprocket counter which will spread Infrared light throughout the film, fogging Infrared sensitive film.

Pace 22 of the Minolta 7 owner's instruction manual reads:

" Do not use infrared film in this camera. The camera's frame counter sensor will fog infrared film. "

That's one reason I got the Minolta 507si/600si/650si.
