Up for sale is a Contax G2 rangefinder system camera, Carl Zeiss lenses, and some hard to find/rare accessories for the Contax G system.
Contax G2 body: The first and only auto focus rangefinder camera that offers 1/6000th shutter speed and continues AF tracking capabilities. I bought the camera because I was very impressed with the image quality, the capabilities, and the amazing titanium finish. This has got to be the most advanced 35mm rangefinder camera ever made.
This little jewel is in mint condition – used for two 12-exposure rolls of Fuji Reala. The first roll was for a check of the body and the second roll was used to verify the databack was working perfectly. The body focuses perfectly and the distance scale is accurate and has been checked against 2 other bodies I own. It is very hard to find a body in this condition with full contax USA warranty right now. Used bodies in excellent condition are available for sale from reputable online retailers and the auction sites for $600-$700, but you never know if metering, focus, electronics, etc. work as they should or not. This body is about as nice as you will be able to find.

Lenses: All lenses in the system have been hand picked to be the sharpest and most contrasty I could find. I had the choice of picking the lens that I felt produced the best image quality and actually found a couple that were not sharp until stopped down to f2.8 or more during my search. All of these lenses are the sharpest Contax G lenses you will find.
Contax Biogon T* 28mm f2.8: A highly regarded high performance lens. This lens is in lightly used once and is in mint/like new condition. Performance is superb and it is sharp wide open. There is no dust inside and lens does not show any signs of use. I do not have a sales receipt for the lens, but have the items included below.

Contax Planar T* 45mm f2.0: The second most highly rated lens (next to the canon 200mm f1.8 L…. no kidding !!! ). It is probably one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used. It’s hard to believe a lens this size can produce such amazing images. The lens is in like new/mint condition and very sharp wide open. Stopping down only affects the depth of field as it is supposed to. It shows no signs of use and has no dust inside. I will include a copy of the original sale receipt as the lens has a 3 year Contax worldwide warranty (minus the 2 months I have had it for).

Contax Sonnar T* 90mm f2.8: The telephoto lens in the Contax G lineup. Lens is in new/like new condition and shows no sign of use. I have mounted the lens on the camera once to test for sharpness and image quality and the results are exceptional. The background blur effect is very nice and the colors are typical zeiss. Autofocus is perfect. I will include a copy of the original sale receipt as the lens has a 3 year Contax worldwide warranty (minus the 2 months I have had it for).

Contax Databack GD-2: This is probably one of the hardest items to find for the G2 rangefinder camera. They originally sold for $425-$500 and as of recently, on the seldom occasion they are available for sale, go for $325 - $375 used. The back is in Exc++ condition (based on the fact that there are minor cosmetic indications/scuff marks on the outside/back plate that show signs of use). The multi-function back can imprint date, time, photo exposure data including exposure compensation, shutter speed, aperture, exposure mode, and selective text. Data can also be collected and printed on the first two frames. The GD-2 also incorporates interval timing functions. It is an invaluable tool to date or obtain exposure information on your pictures.

Contax TLA 200 Flash Unit: A highly sophisticated flash unit for the Contax G system. It has a guide number of 20 and offers TTL Auto or manual flash. Flash has a zoom head and covers the range of focal lengths including 28, 35, 45, or 90mm. Flash has never really been used as I have been using the TLA 140 or TLA 360 units on the rare occasion I ever needed a flash with the Contax G. The TLA 200 is in mint/like new condition.

Contax TLA 140 Flash Unit: The smallest flash unit I have ever used – it is almost half the size of a deck of cards and thin which makes it very portable. This TLA 140 has a Guide number of 14 and offers TTL auto and manual modes. Covers field view of 28mm and out. Flash is in Mint- condition.

Contax Cable Switch L: For remote shutter release. Item is in like new/new condition as I never used it.

Contax TLA Extension Cord 100: For off-camera shoe flash use. A hard to find item, it is in mint/like new/new condition. Was used a couple of times with the TLA 200 and TLA 140 flash units to ensure it is in perfect functional condition. I believe/think this cord works with the Contax N and 645 system as well for TTL flash.

Contax Lens hoods GG-1, GG-2, and GG-3: These are the original Contax lens hoods for the lenses above. The GG-1 lens hood fits on the Biogon 28mm f2.8 and Planar 35mm f2.0. The GG-2 lens hood fits the Planar 45mm f2.0. The GG-3 lens hood fits the Sonnar 90mm f2.8. The hoods have never been used and are in new/like new/mint condition. The GG-3 hood has a very small imperfection (almost a dent) you can feel if you move your finger over it. This was there when I originally bought it. I tried to capture it on the picture, but is too small to show up in the picture and can only be felt when you move your hand over it. Does not impact functionality in any way.

Contax 645 Medium Format Camera: The results are superb as is to be expected of 6 x 4.5 Medium format that uses the almost zero distortion Carl Zeiss lenses. I have used this in place of my 1Ds at times mostly for it’s amazing image quality and ease of use. The body alone sells for $900-$1200 used with extra for the AE finder and back at reputable online retailers (like KEH, B&H, or Adorama). The original kit cost $3199 + taxes.
