The British origins of the railways can be seen in the signals and the SPS 0-4-4 steam locomotive at Sargodha, Pakistan
Traversing the reverses (zigzag) on the climb up towards the Khyber Pass a train with an HGS 2-8-0 steam locomotive at each end. Note the armed members of the Khyber Rifles regiment on the buffer beam to protect the train in this volatile region. I had been sitting between them before getting off to take photographs. What a ride!
Another view of an SPS 4-4-0 steam locomotive passing some impressive semaphore signals.
Steam on the broad gauge was rapidly finishing and this is the real end of this locomotive.
