Lens coupling maintenance

During my photo-trips I change lenses quite often. Up to now everything works smoothly and fine. Nevertheless, is any maintenance of the lens coupling necessary to keep it running for the next couple of years?

Nothing at all to do! You can't wear it out. I suppose that it's possible that the spring in the lens release button could break but I've never had it happen or heard of it happening to others. On rare occasions with older cameras the lens frame selector gets a bit sticky and won't always show the proper frame line but a nudge on the selector lever will pop it in place. When you get the camera serviced this will once more work like new. As for the bayonet mount itself, it'll outlast you!
