Sticky lens cover

The lens cover is sticking. It often takes three or so tries before it flicks away and allows the lens to come out.

I'm nowhere near a service place. Do you think it's safe to drip one tiny drop of sewing machine oil down to the pivot?

I would not do it for my camera (CM). I would be too afraid that the oil damage some electronic components or get on the lens. I think it is safer for you to wait to go near a LEICA dealer or a reliable service place.

It still does it. Usually if it hasn't been used for a week or so.

So, I use it more often. That's no hardship.
