I tried asking this question in the right section but got no replies, so, does anyone know how to tell the age of my Nikon FM with a serial number 2333963?

I don't know any way offhand to determine year of manufacture from your serial number, but I can tell you the FM was introduced in 1977 and the FM2 in 1982.

Thanks Henry. I finally subscribed properly after the new forum has been established. I do remember getting my FM around then.
