People of Damascus (modem burner!)

Hi!

I went to Damascus (Syria) for 4 days and took my Hasselblad 500c/m with me (and used it on 2 days of the trip).

The city of Damascus is an interesting place. It is not really beautiful as cities like Rome or Paris as it is very old, ofter ruinous and economically poor. Still a very lively place and the people were exceptionally friendly and interested in western tourists. I asked every person before taking pictures (often "non-verbally" by pointing towards the camera).

I am new to the Hasselblad-System and non-digital photography (less then 10 rolls of film taken ever) and this was my firt trip with my Hasselblad 500 c/m. Because the stores and markets are very dark, shutter speed was often only 1/15 to max. 1/60 sec. when using film that is rated ISO 400 and I did not wanted to carry a tripod. Therefore, some pictures are not as sharp as they could be but I think the pictures still are interesting to look at - at least for me as a memory of the trip

EDIT: Hm the pictures are not loeading properly anymore. Will re-upload them on another webhoster asap.
