Problem with Photoshop leaving big temp files behind

any ideas? Ive just found several temp files,each about 400meg big!! I've deleted them but would like to know what to do to stop it

What were the file extensions, and what folder were they in?

i took a screen dump before i deleted them.Is it Photoshop crashing and leaving these behind?

I just checked mine and I have one 37MB .tmp file and three really small ones. It probably depends on what you do. If Photoshop crashes (it hasn't for me) it probably would leave it. They probably get cleaned up after a whule - my oldest file is from 10/27.
