Great blue heron

We flipped a coin and decided to go to a state park we've never been to before in the northern corner of the state. It was large lake, but there was nothing but Great blue herons nesting there. Their nests were so high up in the treetops that I couldn't even see them. And they weren't shy either: one landed so close to me that because of the lens I had on, the only thing I could pull off was a head shot (and I had to back up to get that),

Very nicely taken. Always nice to try a new spot.
