Does Zeiss 45mm Tessar must use lens hood?

In Contax pages, 45mm tessar uses 49-55,55-86,No4 hood. But 45mm's main advantage is it's compact, light-weight design. If i use those 3 attachment, it will be another fully 50mm size.
Does 45mm tessar must use lens hood? If not, are there significant flare, ghost, and other problems?

Thanks for your reply. I'll be waiting.

Well,

a lens hood helps always. But the T45 is probably the lens where it is needed the least. According to some earlier discussion on the Contax List it seems the T45 is the lens which has the lowest flare sensitivity.

You can get away with no hood. The tessar has very small number of elements and the front element is deeply recessed into the lens barrel. This design makes it less subjected to flare.
