... while waiting for release of the much talked about HD 55-550mm F/4-6.3 AW lens, do you think that Pentax should put out a HD D-FA 100-400mm f4.5-6.3 SDM AW lens for outdoor use such as sport and wildlife?
Ok, talk among yourselves... :)

Not only is the DFA 150-450 huge(r) and heavier than all of the other 100-400 DSLR lenses by all the other manufacturers, but it costs (+/-) $3,500 despite only doing 30% of what I need such a lens to do... At least a 100-400 would do 40% of what I need such a lens to do :)

I'm curious to know, what do you expect a 100-400 lens to do that the 150-450 doesn't do (besides weigh less)?

10% more...
Follow the math:
If you take the Sigma 50-500mm as representing 100% of my wildlife photography needs (and a possible Pentax 55-550mm lens as the Gold Standard 100%) base starting point:
- then the 150-450 (being only a 3x zoom) represents only 30% of the Gold Standard, but a 100-400 (being a 4x zoom) is 40% of the Gold Standard... which is 10% more...
If you are still following the math, 40% is better than 30% as an interim while I await a possible 55-550mm (gold Standard) lens... ;)
