Zeiss 50mm PQ nonFLE

I hate to carry heavy lens.
I chose Schneider as 40mm for that reason.
And going to choose Zeiss as 50mm for same reason.

I hate to spend much money.
I think I have to buy non FLE Zeiss 50mm PQ for that reason.
But I hate image degradation.
And it is my dilemma.

How about Zeiss 50mm PQ non-FLE?
Or other choice?

Dear Dong-Woo:

If one wanted to go the most economical way as far as a 50mm lens is concerned, the 50mm Distagon EL version would be the one. There is much truth to the adage of, "you get what you pay for". The 50mm lens with the best overall performance for Rollei is the 50mm 4.0 Distagon FLE lens. If you need a little more speed, than the 50mm 2.8 Schneider Super Angulon would be an excellent choice.

I don't know of anyone who likes to spend alot of money to purchase something, but getting the better performing lenses often means a higher price to pay. The 50mm non FLE lens is an old design optically, and I'm not sure if you would be happy with it's performance compared to the FLE version or the 50mm Schneider lens which represent the best that Rollei has to offer in the 50mm focal length.

Regards,
Dale
